Bilal Berkoun built on his pro debut victory last September with a similarly impressive second-round stoppage in Eberswalde, Germany.
The 23-year-old London-based super welterweight had too much in his locker for Gabriel Czirok and got the job done midway through the session.
Berkoun, who is fighting under the guidance of former world-rated contender Ashley Theophane, set himself up nicely for a third outing to come on May 18.
Speaking to World Boxing News after the fight, Berkoun said: “The win felt great, but being back there was what felt and meant more to me on the night.
“I had put in rounds on rounds looking for a good performance and a win, so I was satisfied to leave with the win.”
Asked what his aims are for the rest of the year, Berkoun stated: “I aim to stay busy and to continue my development before my tests against other fighters with similar records and ambitions happen.
“With another date confirmed already, I can stay focused knowing I’ve got another job to do in May. I can’t afford to take time off before going out there and grabbing my third win as a professional.”
On fighting abroad and away from his home, Berkoun replied: “I’m enjoying fighting abroad. Although it isn’t as easy as waking up and driving to a venue, I believe this experience will pay dividends further down the line in my career. Having my team and friends with me makes it all much easier.
“Ashley Theophane went through similar routes, so his expertise floods when he can share what’s required to win at night. As long as I win, I can’t complain with all glory to God.”
Theophane told WBN: “I’m proud that Bilal is Treasure Boxing Club’s first professional fighter. Bilal had a last-minute replacement, so we didn’t know much about the guy as he was 0-0. He got the win, and that’s really all that matters.
“I myself had 60 fights in 12 countries, winning 50 times, so for me, I loved fighting abroad. I’m interested in taking Billal to Ghana, the USA, and Mexico in the near future.
“Devin Haney started his career on the road, so look where he is now. Sometimes, not going the traditional route can pay off. There’s no excitement in doing what everyone else is doing,” he concluded.
