Alexander vs Bradley moves closer to reality

The All-American light-welterweight bout between WBC and IBF Champion Devon Alexander and WBO Champion Timothy Bradley looks likely to take place on January 29 on HBO.

Negotiations between the parties have been ongoing for the last few weeks. Now, it seems a ‘major breakthrough’ in talks has opened the door to a bout being finalized for early 2011.

The venue for the unification match-up is yet to be confirmed. However, the major Las Vegas hotels are thought to be in the running for one of the biggest American world title fights in recent years.

Both men go into the fight unbeaten. Bradley holds a superb record of 26-0 Bradley. Alexander, for his part, is 21-0. Respectively, the fighters have 24 knockout victories between them.

Alexander, 23, impressed in his last fight against former WBA Champion Andriy Kotelnik, winning 116-112 on all cards.

While Bradley, who is four years Alexander’s senior. He also impressed with a unanimous points win over Luis Carlos Abregu.

It’s also thought the winner of the January 29th bout could face WBA Champion Amir Khan sometime in the summer to unify the light-welterweight division.

It should be some fight when Alexander vs Bradley finally goes down.
