After the British Boxing Board of Control revoked his license to box, things seemed to get worse for Britain’s former two-time world champion Ricky Hatton.

After a sustained period of inactivity and public revelations about the Hitman’s private affairs, the Board decided that the decision would be best for all parties.

A BBBofC statement today read: “Mr. Ricky Hatton MBE got legally represented at a hearing held by the British Boxing Board of Control stewards on Wednesday, 22 September 2010.

“He was there to answer charges of bringing boxing into disrepute which had been reported widely across the media.

“At the hearing, the Board found Ricky Hatton guilty of misconduct in his actions. His behavior was detrimental to the interests of boxing and the public interest. He had brought the sport into disrepute.

“Ricky Hatton is not an active boxer. His current physical condition is such that the Board decided to withdraw his boxer’s license.”

Hatton is currently seeking help in his bid to get back to complete mental and physical fitness.

His last fight was a knockout loss to Manny Pacquiao. Afterward, Hatton suffered mental issues while dealing with back-to-back losses.

It’s up in the air whether Hatton will ever grace the ring again despite his young age at 31.
