Floyd Mayweather is one of the greatest boxers ever to lace up a pair of professional boxing gloves. A five-weight world champion, Mayweather retired from the sport on 50-0 in 2017, having achieved the pinnacle of being the Pay Per View leader of his time.

Turning pro in 1996 on the back of an Olympic bronze medal, Mayweather quickly established himself as a world champion two years later. ‘Pretty Boy’ then proceeded to collect titles on his way to becoming a five-weight world champion by 2006.

The following year represented a changing of the guard as Mayweather defeated Oscar De La Hoya in May 2007 to overtake the Golden Boy promoter and take the PPV helm. He never looked back, having landed a six-fight record-breaking deal with Showtime in 2012 and changed his name to ‘Money’ Mayweather.

Wins over Canelo Alvarez, Miguel Cotto, and eventually Manny Pacquiao, placed Mayweather as the face of the sport before his first retirement in 2015.

Mayweather unretired in 2017 to face UFC star Conor McGregor in another multi-million dollar night.
