Mike Tyson ‘feeling great’ despite doubts over ability at 58

Mike Tyson has responded to the reaction to a recent training video in which the heavyweight champion cut a sad figure at the age of 58.

The one-time ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ posted his first 12-second training montage since a recent health scare but didn’t look near his ferocious old self. Tyson took tentative steps in camp with three months remaining until he trades blows with YouTuber Jake Paul on November 15.

After the announcement that Tyson would face off with Paul again on August 18 for their rearranged Netflix headliner, ‘Iron’ Mike assured any worried fans that he is okay.

โ€œIโ€™m looking forward to facing off with Jake Paul at Fanatics Fest in NYC,โ€ said Tyson. โ€œThe countdown is back on.

“Iโ€™m feeling great and looking forward to knocking out Jake Paul on Netflix on Friday, November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Texas.โ€

Tyson and Paul will go eyeball-to-eyeball and trade barbs at Fanatics Fest NYC, with NFL Hall of Famer Peyton Manning confirmed as a special guest at Javits Center in New York.

Paul [10-1 7KOs] faces a daunting task on paper, but with Tyson [50-6 44 KOs] approaching his sixties and having been knockout in his last two professional bouts two decades ago, the influencer astonishingly begins favorite not only to win but to KO the former heavyweight champion.

The outcome really depends on the agreement in place between the pair. Tyson has a short window to score a knockout if the deal is to go hell for leather. If the fight passes a couple of rounds, Paul will likely take out the legend, who is only a few years off his pension.

Additionally, after stopping Mike Perry, Paul is confident he can finish the job against Tyson.

โ€œAfter eating Mike Perry as an appetizer, I’m ready to go for the main course on Friday, November 15,โ€ said Paul. โ€œTo fight the biggest baddest boxer ever is a dream come true for me, but it will be a nightmare for Mike Tyson.

“It’s cool to be featured at Fanatics Fest alongside some of the biggest names in sports, and I look forward to delivering a show the fans wonโ€™t forget on Friday, November 15th.โ€

Most Valuable Promotions, which organized the event after agreeing to a deal with Netflix, has since overseen another coup: landing a spot at Fanatics Fest alongside WWE and other significant sporting brands.

Co-founder Nakisa Bidarian discussed the media gathering that takes place later this month.

โ€œThis press conference on Sunday, August 18, is just the beginning of what promises to be an extraordinary build-up to Friday, November 15,” said Bidarian. โ€œItโ€™s fitting to have Jake Paul and Mike Tyson face off in person at an event highlighting the most prominent sports brands.

“Weโ€™re delighted to be part of Fanatics Fest and canโ€™t wait to see fans from all over experience this historic build-up firsthand.โ€

Furthermore, MVPโ€™s Paul vs. Tyson will stream live globally, exclusively on Netflix, on Friday, November 15, 2024, from the 80,000-seat capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFLโ€™s Dallas Cowboys.
