NFL superstar Travis Kelce has revealed his surprise that Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will be able to knock each other out when they trade blows.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end aired his views on the most controversial boxing match of recent years. Kelce, currently dating musician Taylor Swift, also stated his belief that Tyson will lose to the YouTuber.
Speaking to The Schmo in a clip WBN unearthed this week, Kelce was asked, “Mike Tyson or Jake Paul, who wins that one?”
Kelce responded, “I’m taking the Cleveland kid [Jake Paul], even though Mike is [the Baddest Man on the Planet]. Golly, I feel silly saying that, but I will take Jake with the youth.”
On whether the most famous number 87 in the world sees a knockout happening in that clash, he added, “I don’t know about the knockout. Are they allowed to knock each other out?
“I don’t know about a knockout, man. I’ve never seen Mike get knocked out.”
At 34, Travis Kelce would have been a teenager the last time Tyson did get KO’d in a boxing ring. Sadly, for Kelce’s knowledge of the sport, all of Tyson’s losses have come via a stoppage against the New Yorker. The only one that won’t go down as a KO is the Holyfield rematch, as Tyson got disqualified for his infamous biting incident.
Tyson has been knocked out five times in total, and many see the occurrence happening again when Paul lands a haymaker flush. At 58, Tyson is nowhere near his prime, and even when he fought twenty years ago in his final two bouts, Danny Williams and Kevin McBride managed to take him out.
The other three to halt the youngest-ever heavyweight champion are Buster Douglas in 1990, Holyfield in the first fight, and Lennox Lewis in 2002.
