Chris Eubank Jr. not only called Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn ‘scumbags’ to their faces but explained why he believes his statement to be true.
Speaking at the Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol press conference for his undercard fight, Eubank Jr. made the startling claim while Warren and Hearn were in the same room. After he began, Warren entered the exchange to defend himself.
Most of the room looked shocked as Eubank Jr. gave both UK promoters a piece of his mind.
Eubank Jr. was asked why he joined Ben Shalom’s BOXXER stable after previous spells with the Sauerland Brothers and Matchroom Boxing.
“Because every other promoter out here is a scumbag. That’s why,” the Brighton man explained. “We’ve got Frank Warren behind me, been lying and cheating his way through boxing for the last couple of decades. He sued me for a couple of hundred thousand [pounds] a few years ago, so obviously, I was never going to go with him. The guy is a scumbag.
“Kalle Sauerland had me locked up in a terrible contract the last few years. Squeezing money out of me at every opportunity, scumbag.”
At this point, Warren interjected when saying, “Do we have to listen to this scumbag? Why didn’t you fight Hamzah Sheeraz, scumbag?”
Chris Eubank Jr. did not mince his words here.

Undeterred, Eubank turned his attention to Eddie Hearn and Frank Smith, stating that the Matchroom pair still wanted him to fight Conor Benn “knowing he was on steroids. [The] Scumbags.”
Concluding his rant, Eubank had praise for Turki Alalshikh, the man bankrolling his October 12 clash with Kamil Szeremeta in Saudi Arabia.
“I would say the only promoter that I know for sure isn’t a scumbag is His Excellency Turki Alalshikh. This is a man who isn’t trying to take money from fighters. He isn’t trying to use lawyers and accountants to lock fighters up in slave contracts. He is a man of God and a man of religion. That’s what is most important to the people of Saudi Arabia.
“He just wants to put the biggest fights on. The best events on and pay fighters what they are worth. As a fighter, it’s a blessing to be a fighter at this moment in time because this is the first time we have ever had a promoter like this in the history of boxing.
“Oh, and Ben Shalom is a very cool guy, too.”
