World Boxing News provides an up-to-date list of the Top 50 Pound for Pound Boxing Rankings for September 2024.
For the first time in ten years, the list doesn’t feature Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua. Fury and Joshua dropped out following their losses this year, while ‘The Bronze Bomber’ had already lost his place when defeated by Joseph Parker at the end of 2023.
The new list represents a significant change for the heavyweight division and a changing of the guard in terms of the top three. The sport’s top three 200-pound-plus campaigners are now Oleksandr Usyk, Daniel Dubois, and Joseph Parker. Fury has dropped to fourth, with Chinese juggernaut Zhilei Zhang fifth at heavyweight.
Terence Crawford remains on top of the pound for pound list following his fourth-weight world title victory in August. Crawford is closely followed by Usyk and Naoya Inoue, who have both held the top spot in the last twelve months.
Canelo remains fourth following his win over Edgar Berlanga, while Jesse Rodriguez, Vasiliy Lomachenko, Dmitry Bivol, Gervonta Davis, Shakur Stevenson, and Artur Beterbiev make up the top ten.
Devin Haney is now twelfth on the back of debate of his no-contest loss against Ryan Garcia.
